ATCO Gas Reminds Albertans to Verify Employee Identity

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 20, 2009) - Through media reports it has come to the attention of ATCO Gas that recently a person allegedly impersonated a gas company employee to gain entrance to a Calgary home.

ATCO Gas takes the safety of our customers and the reputation of our company very seriously. Our employees are uniformed and required to wear photo identification and produce it when asked. If there are questions about the identity of the representative, customers can take the following measures:




     - Ask to see their ATCO Gas issued photo identification 
     - Telephone our Customer Assistance Centre to verify that an employee
       or contractor ID is valid:

If the individual cannot produce picture identification, or if it is confirmed by ATCO Gas that there is no work scheduled in that area, the police should be contacted immediately.
